Carol’s Cottage is in the Lafayette Falls neighborhood in South Bend, Indiana. Grocery stores, restaurants, and pharmacies are within ten minutes; local universities, hospitals, and the downtown area are between five and twenty minutes, with Notre Dame being the longest (six and half miles away - a very reasonable commute).
Lafayette Falls is nearby to Howard park and the East race in downtown South Bend that has ice skating in the winter, kayaking, rafting, and tubing in the summer. Downtown South Bend is a bicycle friendly city with scooters you can rent, a farmer’s market, Purple Porch co-op, the Snite and Studebaker museums, and the Morris Civic Theater. You can find hiking and zip-lining at Rum Village, walking and running trails at the East Bank Trail and River Walk, golfing at the Blackthorn Golf Club, and visit the Potawatomi Zoo.
