My pleasant surprise…

My experience with this one couple (from out east) contacted me and booked a weekend for a Notre Dame football game. I took a chance, hoping they would like my simple home and amenities. The couple arrived on a Friday, and I remember showing them around my home. After they settled in, we must have sat by the fireplace talking for hours that night. The man was a practicing attorney & his wife worked in a flower shop. What a wonderful couple! What I realized that weekend that it wasn’t just about the home and all the amenities that I could offer them. It was about me and how I treated them, communicated with them, and reacted to them. They liked my home and me! One year later they called me to book (in advance) for two Notre Dame football games. Unfortunately, I had moved out to go and help my elderly parents, and I had to send them a quick Airbnb email that I had put my house up for sale. Both of us were disappointed and I lost touch with them. However, I have not forgotten how this one special couple led me to continue my guest rental business with Airbnb. Now, having my own website, I hope to continue to accept more special guests!
